About Punjab Technical University
Punjab, inspite of being the most prosperous state, was found to be lacking in adequate technical manpower to support industrial growth in a desired scale. To address the issue of Technical manpower shortage, Punjab government constituted Punjab Technical University in 1997.
There was an immediate need for education masses in job oriented and skill based technologies. Carrying on this philosophy, PTU decided to reach out from campus oriented program by spreading to the general masses through Distance Education Program. To-day, over 845 Learning Centres are functioning across the country (www.ptu.ac.in) School of Animation, Digital Asia, Kolkata is one of such Learning Centres approved by Punjab Technical University to deliver Multimedia and Animation courses.
